TF_GLEBE1Im almost sold on one but have a few questions, do any of you have problems shipping the graphic butt sections as they have bought out the new butts with the diamond finish and the new logo on.
Held both in the shop and they both felt ok to me but you cant really tell until your fishing.
The new one also comes with a reduced package, obviously to pay for the new graphics and finish!!
Im thinking id be better off with the old graphic version as it has the better spares plus i might get a better deal as the new one is out, ive never heard anyone complain about the finish on the original so im not sure why they would bring out a new one,
Will be used for open water carping Mallory/Makins would i be better off with just the standard match kits??? dont see the need for powers
Cheers

TF_Nigel.No problem with the shipping, it has never bothered me on any pole though to be honest.
If i was buying one, i would get the new one, not seen it, but allways a better used value, if its the latest model.
I only used match top 2 and 3 in mine, and never had a problem (and long 4) but i dont fish snag pit, or try to bully carp. Best weight i had on mine (135lb section win in the ACA) is on a peg you will know, the boards on Uglies, big fish them, short lenth of black hyrdo, and fish are 10lbes, that’s the way to test a pole, lol. -

TF_bagging machineParticipantI have never used an Airity but would have thought that the original black butt sections would get extremely hot in the summer. Perhaps an Airity owner can confirm?

TF_dirkdigglerdifficult one mate.
the finish on new one is excellent but the spares package is very poor.
finish on the old one is no where near as good but spares package is far better.
i guess its down to what pole and spares you’ve got at the moment,
as a for instance when sell my tourney for a new airity eventually i’ll be keeping all my match kits for the airity i would’nt entertain the old one. -

I have read this before buts whats the difference between the 11m and the butt sections they’re all black??????? The G10 is the same

TF_Jay PAre the new Airity butt sections not Silver?with the new paint job?

TF_Mikey .J.They’ve got the same satin finish as the pro x. In my opinion the finish doesnt make much difference at all and the pole still gets very hot in the height of summer (anyone who says their pole doesn’t, doesn’t fish enough in the sun).
I have a pro x by the way and had the pro previously.
If there is much of a price difference then i would just go for the original Airity. As for the comment about second hand value i wouldnt worry. As far as it goes Daiwa poles hold their value better than any other (it’s still a second hand buyers market though obviously). Look at the original tourny pro’s…second hand they are still selling for around £1200!.
It’s just a marketing ploy to sell more of the same pole with a slightly difference finish on the butt sections. It will succeed too because there are so many of us tackle tarts out there.
Is my Pro X better than my Tourny pro i had originally? NOPE exact same pole apart from the finish like i said on a couple of sections.

TF_Mikey .J.Also, match kits are the way forward. It’s all i use and they can handle anything. I have red hydro set tight enough to pull a bus in some of mine and they’re yet to let me down!

There is no difference but black absorbs heat and silver reflects heat thus black will burn your hands just like it does on any 11m pole section, but when fishing long silver must be slightly cooler?

TF_Mikey .J.The first time i used a Daiwa pole my sections came apart and i almost lost my top 6! Since then i automatically check sections when shipping out every few times i ship out and twist the sections as i put them together and ive never had a section come apart since. People will say why get a pole you have to check the sections on, but it takes no time what so ever.

TF_top2I have had my airity about 6 months and cant really fault it. Match kits with the number 1s removed are definately best. As regards the sections coming apart, it is a nuisance sometimes but if i am shipping bits all day i put a wrap of electrical tape round the sections i am not going to be breaking down at, this is only for speed if i am looking for 200+ fish though, although you tend to check them out of habit anyway!
I would buy the older black finish airity just because of the better spares package. Never had a problem with it in the sun either.

TF_wildinguknever had sections come loose on any pole except when slapping fishing shallow, just push and twist and they always lock together well IMO

AnonymousAre sections coming apart a problem with the majority of Daiwa poles? or are there only a few anglers complaining?
I’m thinking of buying my first Daiwa pole next year and don’t want to be spending thousands on a pole that’s going to come apart and sink or smash on a rock behind me.
Don’t really want to tape up sections every weekend either.

TF_hempmaster“Striping” the male sections with candle wax cured our shimano which was prone to sections coming apart particularly when using multi-rollers.
Also wrapping with one wrap of parcel tape although unsightly has built up a #4 sufficiently to help improve that scenario and stop it going inside the female end of the #3 too much. But on a hard surface the external electrical type taping would give the best piece of mind towards the butt end and can actually smooth over a pronounced overlap/step between sections. -

TF_top2Like i said, i have only ever taped joints when fishing canals and shipping all day, which is rare!!! would not tape joints at any other time just check them from time to time, which i would do on any £2500 pole to be honest!!!
I had a G8 before which was exactly the same as regards the joints.
The airity is best pole on the market at the moment in my opinion. -

andy85Participantit will only come apart if your rough with it like i am, but if u ship in an out like a snail an line your rollers up correctly you shouldnt have a problem. my tourney never come apart but my arity does do occasionally mainly when im fishing shallow an slappin. never had a top 6 come off to be honest though, if its gonna come apart it will do while shippin out an you will be left with half a pole behind ya lol still wouldnt swap it though

TF_GALPSIve owned my Airity for 18 months now.
Ive had no problem with the joints coming apart and the butt sections are fine when shipping.
I will admit that the sections do get hot in summer.
Get the origional, it has a far better spares package.

TF_squattI thought the new Airity had a ‘better’ fifth or sixth section as there were issues with the original. Is this true or just hype.

TF_squattThis isn’t a pop at Daiwa as I still have and use 2 Speccy Comps & love them.
