        REPORT
As often occurs, the Old Canal dominated the individual weights on Championship Match 10 (for the Andy Radford Memorial Trophy), which was fished jointly with Soldiers & Sailors (Sawley) Angling Club at Rycroft Fishery.

Dave Cotterill (Old Canal peg 6) caught on paste “down the track” throughout the earlier stages but during the latter party of the match switched to double worm over dead red maggots and groundbait fished in his left margin to take a run of good carp to secure the result with 94-07.

On Old Canal end peg 2 (peg one was left out), Steve Hoult took second spot with 83-09. Steve caught small carp, tench and bream by alternating between the track and far side on caster and pellet, but caught the bulk of his weight in the last 90 minutes by heavily feeding neat dead red maggots and fishing worm bait in the margin near peg 1.

John Adamson (Old Canal peg 3) fished paste all day and caught tench, bream and mainly carp at 13m on the far shelf at first then in the deeper water “down the track” at 11m and 9m.

Paul Skinner filled fourth spot with 62-04 from Old Canal 14, followed by Paul Marriott (Old Canal 8) with 56-11 and Mitch Hoult (Old Canal 15) with 55-05.

Match 11 (also a joint match with Soldiers & Sailors) will be for the Richardson Cup at Hacketts Lakes (Big Lake) on Sunday 2 September.
