      Grafham Water
Boat fishing to resume and tackle shops re-opening on 2 December at Rutland, Grafham and Pitsford
Grafham has become the go to venue for bank angers. The quality of the fish being caught along with the high number of catches is highly impressive making Grafham the premier venue.
With a northerly wind the best spots to try are the Willows along with Deep Water Point and Pylon point; if this sounds surprising we have had reports that the right hand side of Pylon has been fishing well for the past few days so long as you arrive early enough to beat other anglers.
The Seat has been fishing its socks off when there has been a southerly wind and of course the south end of the dam is always worth a look.

The methods have changed somewhat over the past few weeks, although it is true that lures such as perch patterns and fry patterns are still catching fish, more traditional methods have also been effective; try a static washing line with a booby or a fab on the point with two nymphs on the droppers, hares ears are the best with nothing more than a size14 hook.

Anglers are reminded to purchase bank permits by phone from the tackle shop, this is mandatory we do not operate any permit sales on the day on the bank, therefore the permit must be purchased before fishing commences.

      Pitsford Water
      Rod average 5.4 (Season 5.7)
Boat fishing to resume and tackle shops re-opening on 2 December at Rutland, Grafham and Pitsford.
With a rod average for the week of 5.4 Pitsford is fishing very well from the bank, on top of that we are seeing some exceptional catches.
Heading this week’s returns for quality fish was the best Rainbow of the season; this cracking specimen of 12lb 5oz was caught and released from the bank between Rigbys and the Gravels. Other fish in the same bag included a 6lb plus Brown and four other Rainbows all over 3lb; caught with floating line with shrimp patterns, later switched to an unweighted snake pattern.
On Saturday one of our anglers fished Northfields and by being mobile and fishing the less comfortable windward bank he had an amazing 34 fish, with a Brown of around 4lb and a Rainbow of around 6lb topping the list. These fish were taken on floating line with a washing line set up and shrimp and diawl bach. One of our season ticket anglers enjoyed great sport at Pitsford this week netting twenty fish across four trips, retaining four fish and returning 16 others.

All areas seem to be holding fish but if you do not catch after 30 minutes then move on as keeping mobile has been productive.

      Best Rainbow: 12lb 5oz.

Best bank areas: Gravels, Sermans, Rigbys

      Ravensthorpe
After what has been a shorter than normal, but nevertheless excellent boat fishing season at Ravensthorpe, the boat fishing has now ceased until next year. Bank fishing will continue until 31 January and permits can either be purchased from the Ravensthorpe Vendor Hut (cash only) or over the telephone at Pitsford Fishing Lodge on 01604 781350 between 8am and 2pm.

Bookings are now being taken for next season so to book a boat please telephone the Pitsford Fishing Lodge or alternatively the Pitsford Rangers on 07885 135453. We look forward to welcoming you again very soon.
