        Rutland Water
Boat fishing has resumed at Rutland, Grafham, and Pitsford, and tackle shops have re-opened at Rutland and Grafham.

Rutland continues to fish well for both trout and predator anglers. Quality rainbows have been recorded from the bank this week with a notable feature being fish seem to be feeding well early in the morning and then in the late afternoon. The water is exceptionally clear and this may suggest that the trout are coming into the banks to feed and then holding over deeper water during the middle part of the day. There are still plenty of rainbows to be caught from the boats with intermediate/di3 lines being the most successful, fry patterns such as humungus and FABS being the most consistent approach. Normanton frontage to the church is holding plenty of fish.

Predator anglers are recording good numbers of quality zander in the 6-8lb class, along with large perch to 3lb making for good sport. Vertical jigging being the best method. Pike have also been recorded with the stand out capture of the week taking the scales round to 27lb 8oz, what a fantastic specimen.

        Rutland fur and feather 2020
30 anglers took to the banks to fish for the coveted Christmas Hampers on Saturday.
The winning rod landed 5 rainbows for 10lb 5oz, with the runner up taking 4 fish for 10lb 3oz. The prize for the best fish of the match; a 4lb 14oz Rainbow, went to the third placed angler who caught a fine brace of rainbows for 9lb 5oz! Areas that produced for anglers were Carrot Creek, Old Hall Bay, the Mound, Willow Bay, Normanton Bank (just past the church) and Sykes Lane beach.
Well done to all who took part on a tricky day, thank you for the support and tight lines!

        Grafham Water
The fishing at Grafham has been of a very high standard since we were able to re-open in December with a rod average of 5.5 for the week. The past week we have had reports of some good fishing from the north shore.

If you are looking for some interesting traditional sport then we would suggest heading towards the Stumps or along the west side of Pylon Point, use a washing line with a fab or a booby on the point with two nymphs up the line.

The dam wall has slowed for the bank anglers in the past few days, the good sport we were enjoying in early autumn coming to a close, the fish seem to be moving to the west side.

The boat fishermen have been finding it easier off the dam fishing a little deeper and using a die 5 line with on three foot of lead, twitching floating lures just of the bottom, this has accounted for some good bags of fish. Also head to the Seat and fish close to the bank using zander and perch patterns this will bring the fish to the net.
