        Winter restrictions
Some Winter restrictions are now in place. Firstly all browns must be returned alive as they are now out of season. This will be the case for the rest of this season and through to the end of March. When fishing the harbour at Rutland barbless or debarbed flies are now mandatory; in addition if you are fishing from the harbour wall you must use an unhooking mat if you are taking Browns out of the net and onto the wall to unhook / photograph. Mats can be borrowed from the fishery. Secondly there are a number of out of bounds areas to be aware of. At Rutland, for boat anglers, the ends of the arms are now out of bounds, for bank anglers it’s the same areas as the boat anglers, but also Dickinsons on the North shore and Gibbets through to the sailing club on the south. Search Anglian Water Fisheries on Facebook to view a detailed map showing the out of bounds areas.

Rutland will host the George Moore Memorial Trophy rudder match on Saturday 6 November. The match will be fished 9am to 5pm with prizes for the best brace of Rainbows. To book or find out more please call the fishing lodge on 01780 686441.

        Rod average 2.97
Although the rod average is recorded as 2.97 for the week this isn’t an accurate reflection of the good number of fish being caught – a plea to anglers to submit please submit a fishing return every time you fish.

As we progress further into Autumn the temperature is dropping, the nights are drawing in but the fishing is getting even better, especially from the bank. The banks have been busy this week both with pleasure anglers and those that compete, practicing for the prestigious Hinckley Shield on Sunday 31 October.
The Autumn winds have been very strong, blowing onto the north shore, the fish are there for those who braved it. For the fair weather anglers, great sport has been found on the Dam and especially Gaynes Cove. The Seat continues to produce excellent sport but with restricted space, set your alarm early!
The fish are right up in the water and the reports are that the fish are feeding on snails, shrimps and fry. So, to tempt these quality trout the old favorites are always worth a try – Diawl Bachs, Shrimp, Hares Ears fished on a washing line supported on the point with a FAB. For those who want to imitate fry, try Minkies and Snakes, varying the retrieve, again on floating or intermediate lines.
        Winter restrictions
Some Winter restrictions are now in place at Grafham. Search Anglian Water Fisheries on Facebook to view a detailed map showing the out of bounds area on the West Side.

Rod average week 3.6 (Season 5.5)
Pitsford is producing some good fish for both bank and boat anglers on various methods.
Bank anglers are reporting fish on Northfields, Gravels, Pines and Pitsford Creek. Boat anglers continue to find fish in the main basin and Narrows.
The pick of the returns this week went to a boat angler who caught 8 fish for over 24lb. One of our bank anglers enjoyed an outstanding day catching six fish from the margins including a cracking 6lb 8oz Brown which he returned. He also had a further Brown along with four Rainbows, the best going 4lb 2oz.
Pitsford Water is hosting its Fur & Feather match on Sunday 7 November (please note that all boats are booked).
Please take extra care over the next day or two whilst we make good any damage caused during the excessively high winds on Sunday 31 October. Boat anglers please note there was some structural damage to the causeway during the storm so please check with the lodge or speak to a ranger before heading out.
        Winter restrictions
Some Winter restrictions are now in place at Pitsford. You can no longer fish in the ‘small half’ from bank or boat. In addition at Pitsford, Season ticket holders will not have complete vehicular access to the bank for the remainder of the season. Instead all bank anglers must use the designated parking spots. Search Anglian Water Fisheries on Facebook to view a detailed map showing the designated parking spots for bank anglers at Pitsford.
Please note throughout November the lodges will be open 8am-2pm
