Hi Gazer,
Four corner pegs will be the preferred draw. On these you have the option of fishing long down the edge on pellet and corn or meat for better stamp fish.
All pegs respond to fishing tight across. Find 18” of water on the slope – you’ll be lucky to find a flat spot and fish punched meat and feed meat through a toss pot (pushed through groundbait riddle with a little fishmeal groundbait). Be prepared to come up to 6” deep if you start to miss bites or foul hook fish.
Feed a line down the track at the base of the far slope (about 5′) – you’ll be surprised how far across this is. I usually go for 3mm pellet with tiny nuggets of groundbait and fish a 6mm expander over the top. You can catch well at the base of the near shelf on a top kit + 1 slightly to your right or left on the same pellet approach.
Rigs on the left hand pool can be much lighter than the right hand pool – the stamp of fish is much the same but the right hand pool has thick reed growth across that can cause problems. It would be wise to find out exactly which one you’re on before tying rigs.
Target weight on either lake should be 60/70lb for a win at this time of year and possibly more, everyone should have 20lb..
You tend to find you catch well across for an hour and then it slows – I then go down the track for a couple of hours before returning tight over for the last part of the match when things can become hectic.
John runs a great little fishery – I book for ASAC every year without fail and all who fish the venue thoroughly enjoy it. You’ll have a good day.
