        Hi All,
Historical bait collection in the Solent questionnaire
My name is Sam White and I am a Masters student at the University of Portsmouth. I am contacting you in regards to a survey that I am conducting for my MSc research project. The research focuses on the history of bait collection and sea angling within the Solent region. The collection of bait for angling holds a strong social importance for many people, but there have been significant changes around the coast that may have changed the way people fish and collect bait. This questionnaire seeks to find out from anglers and collectors directly what changes have occurred over the last 50 years and try and understand the reasons.
This is a University project and has no links to any regulatory body, all information gained from this questionnaire will be anonymised and securely stored in line with University policy. The data collected will be used within in my project, but it is also hoped that it can be published as a scientific study. If you go sea fishing and use bait within the Solent, I would be very grateful if you would spend 10-15 minutes completing the survey. To access the survey please follow the hyperlink below or copy and paste it into your internet browser.

I would like to thank you all in advance for your help and cooperation; if you have any further questions please contact me via the email provided below.
        Yours faithfully
