kee lerryJoff,
It is true that fishmeal has been banned. It is only banned in the matches Mark Silman runs.
I personally disagree with this decision, I could kind of understand banning pellets, but even still I don;t see a need to do so.
But if they are the rules then that is what I will fish too, never used it on there anyway!

TF_MarcRodgerI think if someone is using it next to you it can f### the roach off in your peg aswell as it stinks so much. I agree with Mark Silman good decision i think.

TF_AnthonywatersParticipantRoach and fishmeal are a bit iffy I remember when we used to go to Ireland if you were on roach you never put fishmeal in.

TF_squattDon’t believe Roach are put off by fishmeal if their exposed to it. I even believe Roach on commercials eat Carp shit as it contains digested fishmeal from pellets etc. It wasn’t long ago Bream prefered ‘sweet’ groundbaits on natural venues, what a crock.

TF_DodgeHave they banned the match results in the weekly press from the stainy matches aswell ? Best canal in the country with big attendencies , big consistant weights of silvers and no results ….. very strange ! ~think

fare play i just don’t like bans if lee has found a little edge over the roach anglers then i think thats what the sport is about i can’t see it winning off every peg surely you have to be in the right skimmer areas anyway
i didnt realise pellets were banned on there anyway -

TF_baitchefParticipantHe probably said that because yes if fishmeal is alien to wild fish it might put them off, but in time if they are fed it regulary they will eat it.

lewisWhatever next. How can they police that? And is every angler expected to know that certain groundbaits do and do not contain fishmeal. What a joke. Impossible rule to actually check, so why have it…

TF_DodgeGood post Lewis ~clap
I am fishing the stainy pairs league and the standard of angler and venue is awesome ….. real shame this has happened , one or two up and coming young anglers have been catching a lot of fish and taking notable scalps off the next peg i believe (maybe wrong) fishing different tactics to the usual b/joker . Why oh why does match fishing always shoot itself in the foot ?
Just my opinion btw !

TF_squattThis ban as most are bourne out of ignorance. Best we all take a Chemistry Degree as some anglers WILL be using fishmeal without realising. As Gotgaz says some/most Gbaits contain fishmeal. What is safe to use.
