With our summer a distant past, and autumn drawing in what boots are reccomended for general use. Tried cheap boots about £30 (Map,Maver etc.)but they barely last a season. Was looking at Skeetex super boot, then found they are discontinued or maybe the Field boot, but that feels to warm, any ideas appreciated.
        Paul.

            check these out on ebay

as the add says they are made by the same company but a fraction of the price as the branded version. i have had a pair for about 5 years and they are as water tight as the day i got them.

Go to your local walking shop, fishing ones tend to be pants to actually walk in!! I use some normal ones spring/ autumn made by Raichle (these are pricey though as I also go walking, try hi-tec or brasher for something less pricey). I move onto some thermal lined hunting boots by Red Setter that I bought in the States when it gets cold.
If EXTREMELY cold then the skeetex boots get their annual outing but its like walking on the moon with them!

I agree Squeaky, but the one I liked the Super boot as been discontinued. I have looked into the army boots but needed a second opinion, so thanks Dog. Thanks Rhino will have a look at local outdoors shop.

My mate absolutely swears by baffin trapper boots, like a wellie but with removeable liner. he says they keep his feet just the right temperature even in the coldest conditions. they are rated to about -40 degress. Pricey though you’ll pay about £100 in uk but about £50-£70 from states
