If you want stretch use Maxima. I use Daiwa Matchwinner when I’m in Holland using rod & reel.

Only use high tec now but when i fished old style on trent, don, idle etc never found anything better than bayer.1.1,1.7,2.4?,3.2.probably got these wrong after living down sarf for 200 years but they were good lines back in the day.

rock hard in the winter… original green force 12 oz for roach and skimmers , not seen it for donkeys years , do they still make it?

Bayer takes some beating as hook lengths in none high tech line. As above is correct except 2.4lb which should be 2.6lb. I still use Bayer perlon on the rivers!

                  Fully agree.

Best, ie most supple, hook-length line I’ve ever used on rivers.

                  I used to use the 12oz, 1lb & 1.5lb.
If you got broke on 1.5lb you were using the wrong rod.

I’ve been unable to find any for years, apparently this is called progress.

I found Drennan hook-tie to be quite decent but if ever I ask for this the bloke behind the counter seems to think I want something called rig-line.

                  Never mind.

I would go for Bayer. I use it on my reels for river work and when I bought some after using all sorts for the last 15 years, I was amazed at how accurate the diameters are.
Great line, very under used nowadays.

Silstar match team, thin supple and got some streach. Great allrounder

                        wacky

use STROFT slightly over dia, but very stronge, stretches, no twisting.
