deanbParticipantmost defo the drennan series 7 top quality reel for a fraction of the price, they have some great features-
rubber grommets you fit to the spool to show you what lb/dia line is on that spool,
supplied with 3 spools,
the spools are designed depth wise to take 100m of a certain diameter line, so no backing line needed!!! -

TF_SliderCant beleive these people sying buy the Drennan, its a cheap reel for pleasure anglers. They are good FOR THE MONEY but they are still 30 quid reels.
If your budget is £80 then seriously look at 2nd hand TDR or if you want new then the Shakey or Daiwa Whisker are bang on.

TF_Gavin£80 reels are the I bracket I buy into and in my honest opinion you won’t buy better than a Shimano. They’ve by far outlasted any other brand reels I’ve ever had, and are far less needey in terms of maintenance. Have a look round as £80 will buy you a top reel, and if you’re lucky (and you don’t mind buying them) you may even pick up a good deal on a second hand one.

TF_squattI think people would be very shocked to find out the ‘real’ price of some rods and reels.
