Turned up for a silver fish match today and when I got to my peg the wind was coming at me from 11 o’clock. I thought I’d fish the tip as soon as I got out of the car but the guy next to me was setting up a pole. I said “I hope that isn’t too expensive!” To be fair he did get a few on it and thrashed me but with 5 minutes of the match to go ‘CRACK’ 10 metres of pole floating down the lake towards me and the guy with 1 and 1/2 sections in his hand. No 8 gone.
Someone else had a No 7 section on his GIS blown in never to be seen again. I am glad that I fished the tip although a bit narked that half my bait was blown in within 10 minutes of the start!
