TF_shaunlittle26Check out the brand new TKS pole range from MAP. Some awesome new features, with a ultra modern look, brand new anti friction finish, Reinforced area on the top kits, with added benefit that all the top kits are pre-cut and bushed making them all the same length….
Plus you can choose your own top kit package…

TF_wightanglerThose TKS universals seem a really good price if they are same TKS quality.

AnonymousWould have been better if they had completed the *25 range. Never did get a mini extension for a 525, despite requesting on several occasions.
Is the 501 on the same mandrel as the 525 ? or have MAP sailed us all down the river. The universal top kits are heavier than standard TKS top kits, more re-enforcing to allow cutting to fit.

TF_shaunlittle26All TKS top kits will fit the new poles.. but as for the other sections they wont, these are ALL brand new mandrels..
Personally I wouldn’t say you have been sailed down the river, to improve performance you have to change the mandrels and not just the tonnage of carbon.. This enables the poles to have a slimmer diameter, different tapers and wall thickness. All the new poles come with a dolly butt…

TF_Fred DavisI read with interest comments made on maggot drowners about the 825 a lot of lads were complaining that the pole was to brittle and either lacks core strength or even worse as time goes by the sections become soft, a mate of mine has the 825 and complains about the breakages he gets and says the pole is too brittle most breaks he has had occured when just normal fishing suddenly a joint snaps in half, have the poles been strengthened? It might have copied the browning with pre bushed tips but that doesn’t mean that it has got the inherent strength of the z9 or z12?

AnonymousIn that case MAP should do an upgrade package, ie No top kits. I have all my TKS top kits just how i want them, and would not be interested in pre-bushed kits. So how about a bit of customer loyalty MAP !!

TF_scottypI’m one a of a number of 825 users locally to me, and between us we’ve not a single issue with the 825 – infact 2 of the guys have traded in other poles to swap to the 825, and that includes a garbo M1.
It is a very strong pole, ultra stiff with brilliant balance – i dont know how the 801 is going to be better, but i’ll be keen to have a waggle when they’re out.
I think MAP are raising the bar across the whole range of tackle available out there.Very happy 825 user, Worcester.

TF_paulDWhat a COMPLETE rip off of the Z12. 😮 Browning should see them in court. I bet Daiwa will copy the 12 next and all the Tourny fans will be creaming again.
Browning also have a set of new poles out with all the Z12 good bits and start about 500 quid. Im tossing up between a z12 or the new Z8 to replace my trusty z9. No probs with breakages or spares on my 9 or my mates Z12 so no worries going Browning again.
Found there new catalog on line. http://www.browning-fishing.com/Catalogues2013.html
Got some interesting stuff this year but is hard to find in shops in my patch. Browning is part of zebco which is much bigger that MAP so wont go bust or sell out like Garbo. Ive heard that a few tackle companies have money problems and may go to down the drain next year.
