There are tons out there but the Shakespear are very good value, in as much as you get quality fittings at a very competative price.

What waters – stillwaters, big or small? Rivers? How far are you chucking? How much can you spend?

I thought 11ft 6 ish still waters chucking about 50 yds

Been looking at Preston c series so no more than £140

IMO 12ft as a minimum I would opt for a Daiwa 11/13, Shimano 13ft Speedmaster or have a look at new Fox FX range.

If you are looking at C Series, ring Ted Carters in Preston. You’ll be pleasantly surprised at their prices.

the original 11/13ft carbonactive is the ultimate bream rod, problem is getting one!
if i was going to replace mine i would opt for the preston 13ft competition feeder. Reason being the lightest tip is 2oz but with braid exagerating bites you could get away with a 2oz tip. If it was only to be used with mono take a look at the Excel 12’ 6″ feeder , this is supplied with 1,2,3,oz tips but also a super light tip can be bought to fit the rod. as a previous reply said Ted Carters have some top deals on at the mo

Another vote for the Shakespeare’s – The Superteam Feeder is superb, one of the most versatile on the market. If you’re after a two piece try the 11’6 Mach3,another great rod and cheap compared to other manufacturers.

If you can have a look at a Shakespeare Superteam 11/12/13. You get three seperate butt section and the rod covers 95% of my still water work from commercial carp to skimmer as roach.

You can pick them up for jusdt over £100 and the rod is superb, very similar to the carbotec’s but with slightly more power further down the blank

dave there very similar to the carbotecs in the fact that they both have a reel seat lol

Try and source an original Normark 12ft multi tip,job done.

In the October Stafford Moor festival we compared my Superteam to Chris Haines 12ft Carbotec when we were pegged beside each other.

The blanks were very similar and we concluded that the Superteam was slightly lighter with possibly more power through the middle. Chris was more than suprised.

The original Maver Reactolite No 1 tip which is finer than the Superteam No 1 tip also makes the rod into a superb winter skimmer/roach rod, ideal for venues like Porth where the bites can be very finicky, (the tip fits like a glove).

Try the Tri-cast Perfection 120 or 125,can’t fault the 125 for better (4LB +) bream. It’ll throw a Drennan large open ender 50+ yards.

                                      Bream on
