TF_PikeyGreenie – Get your facts right before trying to shxt stir.
The phrase “The pot calling the kettle black” is an idiom used to accuse a person of being guilty of the very thing they are pointing out – which in this instance is clearly not the case
30 anglers were due to fish the league.6 Didn’t turn up for what ever reason.
of the remaining a number of the competitors were “Not suited” to fishing in the freezing cold conditions and didn’t want to fish.I therefore made the decision to cancel the last round of the league – which was all over anyway and organise a match for the remaining 18.

TF_PikeyA duty of care ?
I wont run any matches next year then when:-
It is likely to rain – otherwise people might get wet and catch a cold.
If it’s sunny – cos people might get sun burnt.
In summer cos someone might get stung by a wasp.
etc etc etc
There was nothng wrong with conditions on the day apart from it was a bit cold.

mattySorry i don’t know anything about the circumstances of this match you’re arguing about, however i take my hat off to Mr Pearson (excellent blogs by the way), for organising matches and leagues. This in itself is a massive task and takes a lot of committment and time. At this time of year, with the crazy weather we’re having some anglers need to learn to keep their mouths firmly shut. How can a match organiser know who wont and will attend from 30 anglers, and he cant organise the weather for you! we’ve had matches cancelled at extremely short notice recently and i have to hold my hand up and say, yeah fair enough, we’ve been defeated by the weather! Maybe you should help Mr Pearson with the running and organising of the matches to see what a difficult task it is. I organise and run matches and i am also in a healthy club of 43 anglers, and fully appreciate the enormity of the task our secretary has in organising the excellent matches he runs.
Anyway, i’ve probably confused you all, however lay off match organisers at this time of year, as the constant mumbling of match anglers doesnt help their cause!
