Carp on a Fly Rod

Ever wanted to catch carp off the surface on a fly rod?

I’m selling a “BJ (Bob James) 9ft Travel Fly Rod” which is a weight 6. It is a 4 piece rod with cork handle, , screw reel fitting, 1st two rings are lined, the rest of the rod has snake rings and the tip is the hay fork style. It comes in a rod bag inside a very hard & durable cordura travel rod case which is 85cm (33.5ins) long.

The rod has never been used and would be perfect for surface carp fishing or to take on hols for sea/freshwater fly fishing. The cordura case has been used a couple of times as I took my telescopic sea rods in it on hols a couple of times.

This rod is labelled as the BJ Seawater 9ft Fly but the same rod was also sold as the BJ Specialist 9ft Fly. I bought it a few years back to try bone fishing with it in the Florida Keys but then went at the wrong time of year. Costs £129.00 new, if you can find one of these, they normally sell for c£75.

This one is £50 including the case (which is worth about £25 on its own) if you bought it as a travel hard-case.
