          If you’d asked this question this time last year then their would have been a lorry load of people on here to give you advice, sadly this year they’ve taken it upon themselves to cancel all Open weekend matches until further notice, something that has left a sour taste in a lot of peoples mouths mine included.

            Sadly after running the Saturday opens throughout the year by November only a loyal 5 or 6 matchmen came for it and some of these from a fair distance which wasn’t viable for them or us…
            We kept 40 peg Wood lake free from day tickets all spring and summer and available for the matches and for however many turned up, be it 10 or 40.
            Other fisheries in this area run Saturday opens in the winter but throughout Summer stop them to keep there day tickets happy.
            We felt with a lot of the matchmen going elsewhere for Winter Matches we felt there was not enough support to run a Saturday open.
            Yes we felt let down…we were loyal to them all the summer and in the end they went elsewhere for the Winter. Unfortunately thats how it was and we are sorry for those of you who lost out on your Saturday open here.
            However Sunday Opens will be starting from 20th February and mid-week Tuesday is still running as always. please phone to book in.

              Good to know that there will be Opens on there again soon. I have only fished them occasionally but generally enjoyed the day when I have fished.

                As above, pleased to hear there will be some opens again soon, quite a long way for me to travel but always have a good match there.
