I keep getting a pop up that says:

        ‘NTVDM.EXE has stopped working
A problem caused the programme to stop working correctly. Windows will close the problem and notify you if a solution is available.’

Then a black window opens with:
        c;windowssystemdllHost.exe

Currently there are 30 of these windows on my desktop and the number is increasing.

Ive tried antispyware etc and had a real good look on google but I just cant get rid of it.

Any ideas, its doing my head in.

BC it might be your AV flagging this exe up as a virus, its used in newer versions of windows to assist older software to work on the new platform.

What triggers the error module what are you trying to run ?

I very much doubt any anti mailware or adware software will fix a compatibility issue

I’m pretty sure its not a virus or malware etc.
Im not sure what triggers the error module. Recently the missus downloaded skype and google chrome, but that could be a coincidence. But the errors are occuring from start up.

                Ive tried following these instructions

                http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_vista-hardware/ntvdmexe-stopped-working/6482c47b-62cb-4915-bd8b-784c6e316498

                but its still occuring.

not sure what to do next except re install vista?
