A much warmer week Elinor saw some excellent fly hatches with buzzers being top of the menu. The water is crystal clear, so the warm bright conditions made bank fishing trickier over the bank holiday weekend and the fish moved out to the deeper water, although this didn’t deter Jim Nixon who managed 9 including an 8lb fish from the Coarse Bank – East Arm by fishing his buzzers deep and slow. I would like to congratulate Nigel Organ for catching an Elinor ‘Grand Slam’ a blue, brown and rainbow in a cracking 11 fish bag taken on red diawl bachs and a cruncher booby. The prospects for boat fishing remain excellent with fish showing across the lake and some good bags being taken on drys when the conditions allow. Please book boats in advance as Elinor is busy, although bank fishing has improved and will continue to do so with the cloudier and cooler temperatures forecast for later this week.
