Elinor opens for the 2020 season this Saturday February 8th at 7am
Only a few days to go before the new season starts this weekend.
Saturday weather forecast is fine although Sunday is going to be extremely windy.
Water is still going to have some colour with the huge amount of rain during November and December but season ticket holders have been fishing from the bank during January and catching some superb residents.
Graham Wright fished on Jan 31st and caught the 6lb 3oz rainbow pictured at the bottom of this report.
With a preseason stocking of 1350 fish included a good proportion of 4lb+ specimens and a good head of overwintered fish this year it should be a bonanza early season.
Black/green or white/green lures and snakes on an intermediate are worth fishing during the first couple of weeks with nymphs starting to score as the water clears further.
There is no need to book for bank fishing but it’s best to book boats, especially from March onwards.
I hope you enjoy a memorable season.
