Last week Elinor fished well, with some good bags being taken from the lodge end of the lake. The fishing was mainly on the surface with hopers and daddies. Season ticker holder Boris from Corby had 18 fish in Broookside Bay and Phill Harris from Stamford had a great afternoon catching 16 fish, he was anchored off the dam and fished with apps/bloodworms, at around 4-6ft down. With the high temperatures forecast this week the fishing is sure to be harder. The water temperature today is 21C, so please take extra care if releasing fish. Mornings tend to be best now, as the the evening rise is not always happening if the surface layers are too warm. The massive damsel hatch continues which at least keeps some fish on the surface on even the brightest days.

        Best Areas
Boat – East Arm, under the wires, down the middle and the boat dock.
Bank – East Arm, Course Fish Bank, Grave Bar and the Dam.

        Flies
Foam daddies – orange and brown, black hoppers, crippled midge, black crunchers and red apps.

        Water Temp 21Deg

        Next Stocking
Due to the double stocking on Friday and the rise in temperatures our next stocking will be on Friday 2nd September when we reopen after the August break.
