Difficult fishing during the hot weather

June 25th – July 1st

76 anglers caught 165 fish of which 131 were returned

Best Fish
4lb 4oz Darren Oram, Aldwincle, black snake, boat

Best Areas
Bank – east arm, dam
Boat – east arm, pylon point, dam

Best Patterns
Damsel nymph, red diawl or cruncher, wet daddy, red apps, cats whisker

Not as many anglers ventured out last week in the high temperatures.
Fishing was much harder for boat and bank anglers with a rod average of just over 2.
Bank fishing was best early morning. Boat anglers managed to tempt a few over the deeper water even during the middle of the day.
The damsel hatch continues with spooned fish containing more adults now along with a few nymphs.
