Plenty of damsel activity but fishing will be harder in the hot weather this week

        June 18th – 24th

176 anglers caught 608 fish of which 414 were returned

        Best Fish
7lb 2oz Sam Mallett, Norwich, cruncher, boat
5lb 7oz Phil Gardner, Luton, blueflash damsel, boat
5lb 0oz Lazloe Boden, Rothwell, brown dry, boat
4lb 10oz Paul Laundon, Bedford, olive nymph

        Best Areas
Bank – east arm, gravel bar
Boat – east arm, pylon point

        Best Patterns
Damsel nymph, adult damsel, wet or dry daddy, red apps, olive or red cruncher, red diawl bach

Last week fished ok with a rod average of 3.4. With the high temperatures forecast this week the fishing is sure to be harder.
The water is 21C today, Tuesday, so please take extra care if releasing fish.
Mornings tend to be best now with the evening rise not always happening if the surface layers are too warm.
The massive damsel hatch continues which at least keeps some fish on the surface on even the brightest days.

Sunday November 11th is the date of the Fur & Feather competition. Boat and bank anglers are welcome to enter.
