        February 24th – March 1st

24 anglers caught 71 fish of which 52 were returned

        Best Fish
6lb 8oz Allan Wither, Market Harborough, olive lure
        6lb 2oz Bobby Dorian, Corby
        5lb 1oz Craig Massey, Coventry

        Best Areas
Bank – dam, boat bay, gravel bar, lagoon, east arm
Boat – no boats out as most days were windy

        Best Patterns
black/green or white green lures, black or olive snake, cormorant, black nymphs.

Not many anglers ventured out during another wet and windy week. However a rod average of 3 shows things are definitely improving. The water still has some colour but fish are seeing flies no problem.
Best method has been to bank fish with a floater and weighted lures or an intermediate with unweighted lures. Slow retrieve is important.
Fish are well spread over the whole lake. On a rare calmer morning yesterday there were good numbers of fish rising although most anglers are catching at a depth of 2-3 foot.
This week there has been a massive improvement in catches.
Yesterday, Monday 2nd, Steve Cracknell caught 16 on white/green lures. Alan Rennocks 12 and Pete Welch 9 both caught on lures and buzzers under a bung.
Roy Whitwell caught on a black diawl bach including the 3lb 5oz overwintered fish below.
