Elinor Weekly Fishing Report Saturday 6th- Friday 12th May 2023
115 Anglers caught 304 fish of which 223 fish were returned.
Elinor saw the first of the mayfly and adult damsel hatches this week, and these along with emerging black or olive buzzers and hawthorn flies, encourage the trout to feed on the surface at every opportunity. Some fine fish have been landed throughout the week, although once again the ever-changing weather conditions proved challenging for some. Fishing from the bank has been better in the early mornings and evenings; the boats continue to catch throughout the day, as the larger numbers of fish feed in the deeper water. The water clarity is still excellent, warming up slowly and at a temperature of 15.2C the conditions are perfect for imitative methods, with the dry fly continuing to work well when the wind is lighter.
