Best Patterns
damsel, damsel booby, black or olive buzzer, red or black cruncher, olive cdc, black hopper, wet daddies.
There was plenty of cloud cover last week and on many days the bank fished as well as the boats with some fine specimens landed.
Fish are feeding on the surface at every opportunity on emerging black or olive buzzers, hawthorn fly and the first of the mayfly.
Water clarity is good now and at a temperature of 15.2C conditions are perfect for imitative methods. Dry fly is working well during the day when light winds and on most evenings.
Scierra Pairs Heat Sunday May 16th 9.45am – 5.00pm
9 pairs fished this qualifier with the top 2 going through to the final in September.
83 fish weighing 185lb 8oz were brought to the scales and anglers who bagged up before the finish were permitted to continue fishing on catch & release after weighing in.
The winning pair were back in with their 12 fish limit at 10.16am! Iain Barr and Richard Cooper used a slow glass with olive or white snake and foam daddies on the dropper.
