Elinor Weekly Fishing Report Saturday 29th April – Friday 5th May 2023

171 Anglers caught 449 fish of which 320 fish were returned.

The changeable weather and that notably cold North Easterly wind meant the conditions were once again more challenging for some. Bank anglers had to work hard, what with the sun and incredibly clear water, pushing the fish out to full casting range until the evening rise. Paul Jennings had a cracking day from the bank on Thursday managing 15, catching on CDC emergers. The hatches of small black or dark olive buzzers and hawthorn fly continue, there are also a few daddies starting to show around the banks. The dry fly fishing has been excellent; on the cloudier days there are plenty of fish showing all around the lake, with a floater/washing line being the best way to target them.
