        August 19th – 25th

116 anglers caught 324 fish of which 255 were returned.

5lb 1oz Paul Mortimer, Thrapston, black buzzer, boat
4lb 14oz Jim Grayson, Coventry, black shipmans, boat
4lb 8oz Phil Musgrove, Sawtry, damsel

        Best Areas

        Best Patterns
black & red buzzer, red apps, black cruncher, black hopper, white/green lure, black snake

At the start of the week there was a decent improvement in catches. When wind direction allowed, bank anglers caught well in the east arm.
The heatwave over the bank holiday weekend was bound to slow bank sport although boat anglers did remarkably well if they were prepared to fish deeper in the cooler water.
Nigel Cheetham caught 16 on Saturday using a fab with two heavy black/red buzzers giving them plenty of time to sink.
On Sunday, regulars Andrius and Tomas shared 22 fish to their boat using a mixture of blobs and snakes.
Gary Ashman landed 8 on deep buzzers.
Today Andy Coleman landed 6 by lunchtime-using mainly buzzers.
It looks as we’ll have lower temperatures towards the end of this week.
