                Hi Jonni

I only run the Sunday league matches on the top lake, I’m afraid the Wednesday opens are almost always on the snake lakes and are run by Mick Webb and Roger Moverley – sorry I dont have their numbers but you could speak to Dick (owner) 01924892251 but I think u can just turn up though dont leave it til the last minute. Mick and co did use the big lake a few times when the ice prevented user of the snake lakes.

As Chubbi chubber said the snakes are patchy though u can have a good day if your drawing arm is good!

The big lake fished quite hard yesterday – combination of melting ice water and a strong cold wind. Unusually for January a few bigger carp fed and took the top two places.

Thanks mate. Do you know what the target species is on the snake lakes and how to go about catching them?

Is the Sunday matches you run the Morley league ones? are they “open”? as i wouldnt mind a few matches on the big lake.

Going tomorrow, will have a go on the snake lake in the morning, and maybe move to the big lake in the afternoon if im not catching.

I went to Lindholm today, that fished very hard too, i didnt see any of the other 3 anglers on bonsai catch anything at all, and i had two big skimmers in a 5 minute spell, but nothing else all day.

Sorry mate its a league (used to be run by MMA) and I have a few reserves listed though spaces only tend to come up at lastt minute due to ill health, work or personal issues so it has left us an angler or two short time to time. pm me your phone number and I will add you to the list if you want.

Will be running league again next year all being well, again let me know if you want to go on the waiting list, I ask those on the league to confirm by early October then go to the reserves, there is usually a small turnover each year.

Re snakes, not my bag baby, in fact positively dislike fishing them, from what I saw a few maggots and grains of corn will do you though the draw is everything – aquatic bingo I think it is termed! Carp to win though there are silvers and trout! present. go easy on the feed if on the big lake….
