I know the BX only comes with two tip sections where the AX has 3, other than that I don’t know, Carp Magic may be able assist further if he sees the post?
Billy Clarks of Sheffield has a good web page and are a Shimano dealer. I think they still have the AX.

Forgot to mention you can also get a butt for about £35 which means you can have the rod set up at both lengths – nice

Tony, ave a look at the new preston innovations 9ft commercial mini f1 and the 9ft preston competition feeder too, both very nice, i think they were 130 and 80 respectively but my mate bought a garbolino 9ft rocket picker and drennan series 7 reel for £55! For the money, the rod is spot on too, soft in top half but with a fair bit of back bone if you hook a bonus lump.~clap

The new beastmaster commercial BX 9/11 is in some shops now we have them in.

I’d also look at the new Speedmaster commercial 9/11ft as another choice of rod if you were looking to spend a bit more.

Don’t rule out the Fox FX Dual 10/11ft. I know it’s not the 9/11ft you mention but it works brilliantly at both lengths without having to be broken down to change lengths. I love mine.

Heard this before, isn’t the butt just the cork? If so, do you get 2 middle sections?

After buying my 5 year old a cheepy garbolino rocket rod I would now find it hard to justify buying much else, not got quite the cachet of a carbotec but them carp still cant read.
You could buy the 2 picker rods and the 2 feeder rods for around the price of the shimano 9/11. Nothing wrong at all with the shimano, in fact the last three feeder rods I bought for myself were made by them.
