Has anyone had any experience good or bad about these umbrellas? i was thinking about getting the greys version,
Normally speaking i hate umbrellas and usualy it would be the last resort to put the brolly up, but last year whilst on a fishing holiday [ pleasure fishing] i bit the bullit and set up my quite old but little used wavelock complete with storm caps and storm poles.
I Managed to fish the tip quite comfortably in wet conditions keeping me and my bait and spare kit relatively dry.
Thw question is i like to fish the pole ,would a greys or similar flat back brolly with zips enable me to pole fish and ship back properly? or are they just a gimmick that doesnt realy work well in practice.
OH and is it possible to retro fit storm caps for use with storm poles like i did on my old wavelock? on the greys pole shipper brolly.

        Thanks in advance crummy

Personally I didn’t like the pole shipper brolly I had. For one shipping a pole back through the slit gives a very restricted view behind and after a very close encounter with a lead footed bankwalker the brolly was soon sold. Also the Super Legion I was using at the time suffered a few scratches due to the sections rubbing up and down the pole zips. An investment in some Gore-Tex gear and use of a Rive bait brolly was quickly made,
