I am looking for a new pole and would appreciate some advice. I have always had Daiwa poles but I really like the look of the new Garbolino m1.

I had it up alongside a airity and pro x and thought it felt stiffer and better balanced and it is near a metre longer.

Anyone got an M1 or anything to say about Garbolino poles?

        Thanks in advance

I have been a long time Daiwa lover for probably over 15 years using top end poles. (Spectron, Pro, Airity).

I moved over to the GMAX 1000 about 9 months ago and use it every weekend.
I would have to say that the Garbo is longer, stiffer and only a fraction heavier, but I dont care about this because you get better performance when fishing longer lengths than the Daiwa’s.

Another major pus point is that power lite kits are super strong and still dont seem to make any difference on the poles performance.
Unfortunately, I could never say this about Daiwa power kits, big bores etc, as they were always noticeably worse that the match kits, although to be fair the match kits were pretty strong.

My only damage to the pole is a broken 13m section which was replaced by Garbo straight away. It was a clean break about a foot down from the male end, which happened when slapping.

Reading about the new M1, the butt sections seem to have been made stronger to ensure this problem is no more,

Struggle to find a reason to go back to Daiwa now, as I dont see them improving on the Airity, which in my opinion has not moved on much from the Pro?

          Cheers guys

I have had all the Garbo poles, G995,G10, Gmax1000 and now the M1, no regrets with any of them, no breakages on any of them – thoroughly recommend the M1 as a top end pole, don’t like slagging other poles but would agree with your observations – Get yourself an M1, you won’t regret it 🙂

The re-sale value on top daiwa poles are massive and spares are so easy to find if needed cos theres so many daiwa poles being used at the moment…i fished a two day festival last weekend and there were airitys and tourney pros in rows of six and seven anglers!!!I think that they are like the apple i phone everyone seems to have one…down to top branding (by the way ive got preston the one and that suits me 100%). I dont think the top end poles are far apart from each other (alot are made at the same factories!) Just whether your a follower or like things in life different to the main group.) The top end poles are all great and i dont think that they are better than others its just whether you like the feel of em when fishing 🙂 🙂

totally agree with punchmeat daiwa poles hold there value for years and the spares are available for years after i have had both garbo g-max 100 and airity
all i would say is buy the airity 🙂
