        Yet again ice was an issue for this latest Vets’ open. Barry Rance of Retford fished caster & maggot at 10m from Bridge Island 6 for a mixed net of roach, perch and skimmers
        2 D Downes, Killamarsh, 9-0-0; peg B Island 16
        Dave Downes also caught silverfish on the pole at 10m using maggot over groundbait
        3 C Line, Newcastle Arms, 7-14-0; peg B Island 12
        Chris Line fished casters on the pole for a silverfish net

        Daz Oldham ran away with the win in today’s open. He alternated pellet and caster at 11m for skimmers to 2lb

        Don Slaymaker fished aster and bloodworm over joker at 11m for a mixed net of roach, perch and skimmers

        Finally there were enough pegs to be able to fit in this round of the Teams of 4. Steve Richards was the winner today in what proved
        to be a tough match. Steve caught small perch and roach using caster over bloodworm and joker at 10m up to the edge of the ice

        Andy Shaw finished second with a small net of perch taken on the pole with bloodworm and joker
