TF_wildingukThe nathans one isn’t a direct direct copy. For one it’s made of wood, secondly is doesn’t have a nice punch friendly thin rubber typoe botton, the bottom is wood. I have one, but your punches don;t cut too well on it, it needs that lining to work well….not yet found somewhere that does that kind of plastic/rubber yet.

TF_KarponiI might be a bit thick, but how does this CD case work? I can see you put the rolled bread inside and there is a little gap at the front where you could punch a few, but what happens next do you rotate the bread? Or do intend to keep lifting the lid to punch the bread? I don’t get it, its not as good as sliding lid.~think

04/04/2011 at 7:22 pm #136963
TF_andy cranes mateParticipantYou just keep lifting the lid and punching it, then shut it to keep it fresh.

TF_One Out of the FrameI can’t help but feel that a cartel is artificially inflating the price of the bread board if they have a few to shift.
Personally, I keep bread in a food bag and slice it into quarters, eights, tenths according to weather conditions and just take out what you need: The Image box took up too much room on the Drennan Bait Stand and it was at a time when that was all I took.
£100 to keep, at the most, £1.50’s worth of ‘Kingsmill’ in tip-top condition is absolute stupidity but then again, I don’t think our sport tends to attract the brightest members of society! lol

Theres certainly something odd about how the second hand prices of these have gone through the roof of late. They were changing hands for £10-£15 on the fishing forums 2 years ago.Now people are asking for silly money before putting them on Ebay.I don’t ever remember my image board keeping a whole slice fresh for any length of time in warm sunny conditions.I also cut my slices into 1/4’s and keep it inside a sandwich bag, takes seconds to reach inside, punch a piece and close the bag again.

TF_One Out of the FrameI wonder how many bread boards you could shift at Evesham on the August Bank Holiday, for instance?
If people think that you could get £60-£100 on eBay do you think you could shift 25,000 @ £10 a unit?
If you could manufacture and ship for say £2 a unit then that is a fair bit of profit to be had…. I wonder if I could get enough made for then? lol

TF_blissParticipantI think there is a huge market for the stuff we had years ago and more specifically the stuff we couldn’t afford years ago.
I agree that £100+ for a bit of plastic is OTT but look at old Hardy fly reels/kit and see the collectors value!
For me it was Mitchell Match and Abu 500 series reels, shakespeare sigma/boron rods etc.
Image it would seem has a place in the hearts of fisherman that leaves a hole in the wallet LOL!
Didn’t RIVE do a bread punch board box that was a scaled down ST tray?
-
06/04/2011 at 3:35 pm #137120
TF_streamlineIt was actually me that sold the board, and I can assure that it was a genuine sale, and not inflated at all. I would hapily of accepted £25 for it on here where it was first advertised, but because I had to put a price on the advert I said the last one sold on eBay went for £82. I wanted offers for it, but I am more than happy with that price.
I just have to get hold of the other 6 that I know of, including rare double ones!!
