Couple of questions

Is the spomb readily available?

The yellow braid. You talk about it being good because the fish can see it easier and you get less liners. Given your record / ability I presume not but isn’t it better for fish not to see the line and rather adopting carp anglers approaches and pinning the line down to the bottom?

Are there any instances where you find a ‘traditional’ sweet mix better than a fishmeal GB ?

NW Cut Angler I’ve seen the spomb in a couple of shops recently. The coloured braid maybe to do with if the fish can see/sense it then if they do swim into it then they don’t go mad. Kevin I guess your busy but how do i go about ordering some feeders from you.

The spomb is in the shops. I do like to pin my line to the deck, but on deep water its counter productive. The beastmaster braid does sink well though.
For some reason the fish in Ireland seem to prefer traditional sweet mixes. I have caught over there with a fishmeal mix but it seem to pull every perch in the venue to your peg, so i tend to use G5 and VDE gold pro over there.

Another thing i forgot to mention in the article, is that by only having 1 knot tying the snap swivel on. its a very strong rig and can really be given some force to go a long way without cracking off. And remember to leave a bit of space between the stops so the swivel can rotate.

Kev, a bit belated but excellent article, I’m moving to Spalding in the summer so I’m interested as I’m hoping to get down to Ferry Meadows, especially seeing what it has to offer. I’ve done quite a lot of breaming in Holland so it seems very similar.
Is your choice of 13ft heavy feeder rod to allow you to punch the feeder harder and improve accuracy, as to me you seem a little overgunned? or is it that for the article 55yds was close in and you normally need to fish further out?
My feeder rod of choice is a 12ft carbotec, but if you normally need to cast further out then I will need to look at something else.
