REPORT
Paul Richardson continues his blistering good run of results with another win making it three in a row! Making good use of an end peg (20), Paul started on the caster and worm approach to target the ide. His first fish on that line turned out to be a carp, and after catching around 20lbs of ide Paul turned his attention to the margin near the empty platform. This tactic started to produce some better sized carp that boosted his winning weight to 83-12 for a clear win.
To continue the same ‘one-two’ from last week’s “Soldiers” match, Les Smedley fished another excellent match to place 74-04 on the scales from peg 9 to for second place. Les ignored the silvers and went straight for carp with the pellet waggler which produced a couple of early fish, followed by the bomb/feeder to keep the fish coming. However, the bulk of Les’s carp were caught on the pole using paste hook bait at around 8-10 metres and as soon as Les changed to paste the bites were pretty instant and a steady succession of carp ended up in his landing net.
The third place came from regular framer Nigel Brailsford with 71-12 from peg 11. The method feeder tactic caught fairly steadily for Nigel for the most part of day. Nigel managed to add some more decent carp from the margins in the latter part of the match to add to his weight
Paul Marriott also took advantage of an end peg (2) to weigh 70-00 for fourth place, Rob Pembridge took fifth with 65-00 from peg 19, with Dave Cotterill (peg 8) in sixth place with 57-6
