I was watching a match at weekend on my local lake.I noticed a lot of the top weights were caught using soft pellet for the skimmers and the top match lads were using the lift bite method.Do you think it would be an advantage fishing for skimmers this way and if so how would you shot your rig. ~think ~think

I read a thread elsewhere the other day about this subject.

          Particularly good for skimmers.
          It’s a double bulk rig.

Shotted with a bulk about 12/18 inches from the hook. A second bulk of 2 no.8’s about 4 inches from the hook.

Set the depth so the second bulk is about an inch off the deck.

Bites will be very positive. Either a lift or sailaway.

One tip is to use a body down float with a longish bristle with 2 colours on the tip so you can see small lift bites on those more difficult days, but essentially its for days when the skimmers are feeding confidently.
