Report:
Swann Baits backed John Ricketts made excellent use of peg 11 to win the Kobra Thursday Open, fished on Avon at Dynamite Makins. Fishing pellet along the margins, John caught carp to 8-00 in his 38-12 winning weight.
Rugby angler Ian Morris (peg 20) fished meat across and in the margins for his 25-12 carp and barbel catch for second, pushing Wendell Ward (Best Baits) on peg 8 into third place. Wendell’s 24-12 carp catch all fell to meat fished to his left margin.
Kobra Thursday Open on 24th March will be on Reptile and Snake (Phase 2) at Makins.

Report:
A bitterly cold East wind had a retrospective effect on sport on Lake Two at Dynamite Makins for the Wednesday Kobra Open, and although everyone caught fish weights were mostly low.
The exceptions were the top two. Terry Phillips (Attleborough Angling) on peg B17 caught decent carp early on and then stockies for the rest of the match to end with 84-08 and a clear win. Most of Terry’s fish fell to pellet and meat fished on a method feeder, although he also caught on straight bomb and pellet.
Attached photo shows Terry Phillips with 49 lb of his 84-08 winning catch.
Chris Harrison (Bailey’s of Warwick) caught his 44-12 late in the match from peg B11 on corn and pellet fished in the margins, and included some big carp to 15-00.
John Adamson (Kobra Feeders) on peg A4 had only two carp (both falling to method feeder) for his 22-12 third placed weight.
