TF_geepsterParticipantIt appears that an advertising server has caused Total-Fishing to be tagged with a warning message about malicious software through some browsers…
I just want to let everyone know that we have acted immediately and deactivated all third party advertising other than that directly from Google until we get to the bottom of it…
If you are having problems with the site over the next few days while we try and get the warnings lifted, can you please use Internet Explorer…

TF_geepsterParticipantIt should be okay for everyone now for all users – let me know if not…
The problem is seems was with the ad server, which was attacked over the weekend… -

deemanParticipantAny idea what the infection was? My laptop was infected with malware (Security Tool on Saturday evening)and I can’t think where it came from as the only site that were visited was this one MFS and Facebook. If anyone else gets infected download and install Malware Bytes, this will clean the infection

TF_D.W.First things first. Until it has been given the all clear by the developers PLEASE DO NOT USE INTERNET EXPLORER as this is what will allow the malicious code to install itself with no warning. Firefox & Chrome have better blocking scripts and will give warnings (I never got any warnings with IE but the other two browsers mentioned warned upon entering the site). IE will allow scripts to run in the background.
himoverthere, in safe mode, go into the C:Program FilesMalwarebytes folder and rename MBAM.EXE to anything else.exe and try to run it by double clicking the file directly. Most of the malicious code will block known removal applications from running by name (you can change it back after the malicious code has been removed). -

TF_justin caseD.W is bang on the money there, it even fails to allow malwarebytes to be setup so downloading it doesnt work to cure the problem, unless you rename the file you download
I have been battling with this problem for a good few hours now and its a tricky one, going back a week or a few days doesnt always work, for me those go back points were also corrupt
Internet explorer will happily let you on here and any other site with anything remotely wrong it has more holes than your average carp net
I like to think I im reasonably secure but laziness and using IE has given me quite a challenging issue
Geeps you really could do with an edit on your first post about browser use Exploere will just allow further infection Google Chrome is a much safer option.
These ad companies seem to never check there advertisers scripts they need to be shot

TF_CraftytaftyWhen I tried to get on TF at the weekend my laptop wouldn’t let me and came up with a message that this site may harm your computer. I always use Internet explorer so just carried on using my laptop as usual. does this mean I will automatically be infected ?? and if so, how will I know.
I ( along with many others probably) are not a whiz around the whole security “minefield” so what should I do?

TF_OggyLuckilly I run Google Chrome and when I tried to access the site at weekend I got a warning so I stayed away until I saw some positive news on other sites.
