MOLANDS Fished very well with the warm sunshine getting the carp feeding well and fish to 18lb were caught last week. Pellet or method feeder fished up to the island has accounted for the bigger nets. There were plenty of fish also being caught on the pole with pellet or caster catching skimmers, F1’s, tench and the odd decent carp. The best areas have been 1 – 4, 25 – 29, 43 – 48 and 52 – 60.
GEARYS The warmer weather has seen a lot of carp push up into the shallow water and up to the weekend, pegs 21 – 31 were in excellent form producing 100lb+ nets to pleasure anglers including plenty of double figure fish Paste down the edge or method feeder have produced the best catches. The high bank remains the best area for pole fishing and mixed nets of bream, skimmers, tench and carp are coming to expander pellet over micros.
LITTLE GEARYS More fish are being caught shallow with caster or pellet fished in the top couple of feet the best tactic. F1’s to 4lb producing the bulk of the action but skimmers, carp and tench are also showing in increasing numbers. Paste or pellet, fishing close in, is also catching plenty of fish. Best pegs are 9 – 13, 17 – 19 and 26 – 30.
GRATUITIES The far side and end pegs are still the best areas with carp and tench going well on these pegs. Pole fished expander pellet fished over micros is the most consistent tactic with the pellet feeder a good back up.
