        Hi All,
I was browsing the net looking at spares as Im after a number 5 section for my Garbo and came across this perticular pole and spare section.
This must be the most expensive pole section EVER.
Sarced the life out of me I can tell you….

        Aspire AX Competition 1600 No 9 £728.99

Considered buying a Shimano last year until I saw a post about the price of sections, put me right off and possibly why you don’t see that many on the bank.

Shimano pole spares are absolutely extortional, think craigm got quoted somethin like £720 for a no 7 or 8 on one of his poles. Like macca said that’s probably why you don’t see too many on the bank. Good poles too, just a shame they charge so much for spares.

i had an aspire pro for a while as they were half price at climax tackle.
it was a really good pole trouble was every time i fished with it i was terrified of breaking it.

Spares pricing is totally different on the new models.

It wouldnt be a bad idea if manufacturers printed the list of spares in their catalogues not just for the top kits or no 4’s.

In fairness Preston weren’t cheap for spares on the ‘One’ either when my mate went to buy one he asked the cost of replacement sections before he made his mind up, needless to say when he found out the prices he didn’t bother.

Shimano’s latest range, with Gen X spares, are very resonable and very good poles.

Yep, I was quoted £749.99 for an Aspire pro No7. When I asked the bloke if he was joking as the price was ridiculous – he said he’d throw in free delivery as a good will gesture. My reply was several swear words followed by slamming the phone down.
