Report:
The temperature was zero when the match started and 3C at the end, and the stiff breeze’s windchill effect made fishing very uncomfortable.
Mick White on peg 24 fished pole and bread close to the island and caught carp at intervals all day for a weight of 38-11 and a clear win.
On peg 25, Andy Searle also caught on pole and bread against the island. His fish were smaller and came in the early stages but his 14-08 was enough for second place.
On peg 29, John Adamson packed his pole away after 3 bite-less hours and concentrated on bomb and corn. With an hour to go he had to small carp which totalled 4-10 for third place.
Mick Chapman (peg 21) had a carp and two bream on pole and soft pellet for 3-08 and fourth place, the remainder not weighing in.
NB. ‘NISA Feeders’ Opens are at Makins Phases 2 or 3 every Thursday. You must book in before 10pm the previous evening (Facebook – Nisa midweek open matches), draw in car park stated on match notice, draw 8:15am-8:30am, fishing 10:00am-3:00pm.
