        Report:
The overnight heavy rain made the “B” bank boggy, but access apart, the lake fished well with fish caught all around the lake and only one angler failing to catch.

Paul Gardiner on peg A20 fished bomb and wafters to the floating boom to catch 6 carp to win the match with 43-01, just enough to edge Alan Grewcock on peg A15 into second. Alan had 5 carp, all taken late on bomb and wafter, plus several skimmer bream which he caught on pole and pellet fished to the reeds in the early stages for a total of 41-08.

Allan Neale (peg A18) continued his good run of results taking third place with 37-04. Alan caught an early carp on bomb and wafter fished to the reeds to his left, then added four more in the latter stages casting to the floating boom in front of himself.

Tony Lamb secured fourth place with two carp (bomb and bread) and silvers (pole and pellet) from peg B1, Daz Forrest (B6) had two carp (wafter) and two bream (bread) all on bomb for fifth, Andy Findlay (A11) had three carp on bomb and corn cast to the island for sixth place with 22-04.

On peg A9, after nearly two hours without a bite, Jeff Robertshaw decided to fish for roach, and feeding groundbait with dead red maggots and pinkies with the former as bait landed 20-14 of quality roach for seventh place. Just shows the potential of targeting silvers!

Lake Four next Wednesday (22 January).
