On a bitterly cold day with a strong NE wind, the most sheltered and the windiest pegs took the top two places.
Kev Winfield on peg 3 had the wind mainly off his back, and casting into the calm water towards the lake end and island with bomb and pellet he caught carp, including a run of four fish in successive casts halfway through the match, to put a winning 44-06 on the scales.
On the opposite corner of the lake on peg 21 in the full wind, Pete Eden also fished bomb and pellet for his carp catch of 36-04 for second place, the bulk of his fish coming in the final 90 minutes.
Kev Walters (peg 9) caught a carp and a bream on bomb and pellet, before a switch to pole and pellet produced a further bream and two more good carp. His 32-08 gave him third place.
