EVENT: WEDNESDAY ‘NISA FEEDERS’ OPEN MATCH
VENUE: LAKE FOUR
DATE: 30 NOVEMBER 2016
1st Pete EDEN Syston Casters 12-00
2nd Terry PHILLIPS Attleborough Angling 7-08
3rd Tony LAMB Jaguar AC 2-14
Number of pegs: 16
Part of the lake was frozen (pegs 1-14) on a bitterly cold day, and although having an iced peg (9) Pete Eden, having cleared ice close in, cast over the remaining ice on the whistle with bomb and pellet and hooked a carp within seconds. It broke its way through the ice as he reeled it in, netted it, recast (this time with treble corn) and five minutes later had another carp. Although he caught no more it was enough to win.
On the opposite bank on peg 21, halfway through the match terry Phillips had his only bite of the day which produced a carp of 7-08 for second place, Tony Lamb (peg 23) catching a bream for third place just before the end, also on bomb and pellet.
NB. ‘Nisa Feeders’ Opens are at Makins on Phase 1 every Wednesday, 9.00 am draw in Café (on Phase 1 Car Park).
