MOLANDS Improved this week with match weights to over 150lb and good back up weights. In the matches, shallow tactics such as caster or pellet on the pole or a method feeder to the island with micros and wafters have accounted for the bigger catches. The pleasure anglers have enjoyed some good catches with carp to 23lb reported and plenty of doubles showing with surface fishing best but boilies to the island also working well. The most consistent areas have been from pegs 2 – 8, 15 – 21, 39 – 46 and 56 – 60.
GEARYS In great form with many 100lb catches this week and carp up to 20lb being caught. The top tactics have been bomb with pellet or boilies, long pole with banded 6mm – 8mm hard pellet and down the margins with corn or big pellets. There have been decent nets of skimmers also coming out with bags to 40lb on pellet, corn or paste. Best areas have been along the high bank from 7 – 15 and pegs 18 – 21.
LITTLE GEARYS In outstanding form this week with great catches being taken from all around the pool. In the matches, nets to over 170lb were caught this week with many anglers catching 100lb+ catches. Shallow tactics have been best with caster or pellet at 14 metres but fishing down the edges with caster, meat or paste has also worked well.
GRATUITIES Anglers have reported catching up to 30 carp from 2lb to double figures this week with the far side pegs from 9 – 15 in the best form. Surface tactics with bread or dog biscuit have been best but there have been plenty of carp coming to a feeder to the island or waggler with corn or pellet.
ANNIVERSARIES Consistent sport with F1s showing on most pegs along with the odd bonus carp and tench. The best tactic has been fishing caster or pellet on the deck but feeding heavy to fish them shallow.
WILLOW There have been lots of F1s and carp being caught on shallow tactics with pellet or caster fished out to the middle of the pool. The bigger carp (fish to 18lb) this week have been caught from the margins later in the day with corn or paste fished over micros working really well.
SIBLINGS A Siblings ‘A’ has been a little slower than all of the pools but nets to around 70lb were still caught. Carp to double figures, F1s to 5lb and ide have made up the catches and pole fished corn, paste or pellet fished down the margins or up to the island has been working best.
SIBLINGS B Fished really well this week with nets to 170lb caught, made up mainly of F1s but some carp, ide and tench also being caught. Pole fished caster, pellet, paste or corn have worked well and the better catches have been made by tempting the fish to come shallow and short at five metres.
