MOLANDS Although there were match weights to over 100lb, Molands has still been tricky this week with the F1s still switched off a little. Carp to double figures and F1s to 6lb have featured but not in numbers of a few weeks back. Short pole and pellet on the deck for F1s and bomb or waggler with 8mm pellet to the island is best for carp. Most consistent pegs have been 2 – 8, 19 -25, 42 – 46 and 56 – 58.
GEARYS There have been lots of 100lb+ bags this week in matches topped by Ian Keywood’s 196lb catch from peg 27 caught during this weeks Festival. Bomb and pellet or corn/pellet/paste down the edges have all accounted for big catches. Good nets of skimmers with weights to over 70lb coming to short pole with meat, corn or chopped worm and caster over ground bait. Best pegs 7 – 13, 18 – 23, 27, 31 and 36.
LITTLE GEARYS In terrific form with match weights to over 200lb caught this week and lots of 100lb+ bags. Short pole with pellet fished through slop has been the most prolific tactic, with long pole, caster/pellet or method feeder to the island all catching well. Best pegs have been
1, 7, 9, 12, 15, 21, 25, 27 and 29.GRATUITIES Pleasure anglers have enjoyed good sport with carp, crucians. tench, bream and some decent roach being caught with mixed catches to 60lb reported. Pole or waggler with caster is working well along with a method feeder/pellet feeder fished tight up to the island.
SIBLINGS A In good form with weights to 120lb caught this week which has involved catching a lot of fish with carp, ide, F1s and skimmers making up the better catches. Pole fished paste, pellet or meat have all been working well. A small method/pellet feeder to the island is also catching well at the moment.
SIBLINGS B Great sport with F1s showing on all the pegs and weights around 60lb – 70lb have all been common. Pole fished pellet short or against the far bank has been the most consistent method with caster, corn or meat also worth a try.
ANNIVERSARIES Still very difficult on Annies with weights to around 40lb best of mostly F1s at the moment with the bigger bream not showing well at all. Pellet or caster on the pole has given anglers the best chance at the moment. Best pegs have been around the top end from 2 – 8.
WILLOW Ever popular, Willow has been in good form this week with carp and F1s providing good sport on most pegs. Shallow pole and pellet, pellet waggler or a small feeder to the island has been the best tactics.
