MOLANDS The very cold weather at the beginning of the week saw sport drop from the previous week but fish were being caught on most areas with nets to over 50lb in matches. Maggot is still the top bait with maggot feeder, long pole and maggot or feeding them down the margins. F1s to 6lb have featured in nets and there were plenty of the new carp and F1s showing around the pool.
GEARYS Picked up over the week and the shallow water from pegs 20 around to 31 have been providing good nets of carp with match weights to 100lb recorded this week. Pole fished maggot or pellet is working best for carp from 1 – 6lb and the larger ones have come to straight lead with boilies or pellet and to the method feeder with wafters. Decent nets of skimmers are also coming out with fish to 3lb in bags to 25lb+.
LITTLE GEARYS A little harder this week but improved generally as the week went on. Down the margins has been the best place with nets to around 60lb of quality F1s coming to maggot or banded hard pellet. A small method or pellet feeder fished across to the island is also producing a few decent nets.
GRATUTIES Still a little difficult but on the warmer days last week there were plenty of carp on the surface and they were being caught on floating baits or pellet waggler. Plenty of bites to be had from the silver fish with good sized tench, roach and skimmers coming to maggot or caster.
ANNIVERSARIES F1s to 3lb, small carp to 2lb, ide and skimmers are making up the better catches. Pegs 17 round to 23 have been the most consistent ones fishing pellet or maggot with the maggot feeder also successful.
WILLOW Up and down with the weather but when on good form it has been fishing really well with lots of carp and F1s being caught. Pellet waggler was the stand out bait but corn/pellet down the margins has also been working well.
SIBLINGS A This pool has gone a little patchy again but pegs 13 – 21 have provided decent sport with plenty of F1s, ide and skimmers with the odd bonus bigger carp to around 10lb. Pole with maggot or pellet is the standard approach but a few are being found by using a small banjo or pellet feeder fished across to the far bank.
SIBLINGS B Pole fished expander pellet, maggot or caster has been working well and the pool has been in decent form this week with nets to over 70lb in matches and even bigger catches reported by pleasure anglers. Plenty of fish on all pegs but 7 – 13 have been fliers.
