FISHING REPORT – WEEK ENDING 28/3/21FISHERY REPORT
MOLANDS The new ‘stockies’ (F1s) have been along the new bank on pegs 1 – 13 where pellet or maggot on the pole, either long or close down the margins, has seen nets to 100lb caught. The carp are showing better on pegs 21 – 25, 29 – 33, 42 – 46 and 58 – 60 with fish to nearly 20lb coming to either boilies or big pellets fished across to the island or corn/meat down the margins. Some nice tench and bream also featuring in catches.
GEARYS Lots of double figure carp up to or 18lb have shown this week with carp anglers fishing boilies or match style angling fishing bomb and pellet or long pole with banded hard pellet. There were some nice nets of silvers also showing with maggot, caster or banded pellet accounting for bream to 4lb and roach to 1lb. The best pegs for carp have been 9 – 13, 18 – 21 and 30 – 36. The silver fish are showing better along the high bank from pegs 1 – 12 across the far side on 31 – 39.
LITTLE GEARYS Pole fished corn, meat, paste or pellet are all working well for F1s to 5lb fished long at 10 – 14 metres or down the margins. Carp to 15lb have also been caught and bomb with 6mm or 8mm pellet and method feeder to the island with wafter or pellet have been catching these. Best pegs have been 7 – 13 and 21 – 25.
GRATUITIES Better for silver fish at the moment with maggot, caster or expander pellet catching roach, skimmers, crucians and the odd tench. The carp are coming to bomb or waggler with pellet fished up to the island or down the edges with paste or corn.
ANNIVERSARIES In really good form with loads of F1s being caught from ‘stockies’ in the 8oz to 1lb range to larger samples up to 5lb. Some bigger carp have also been showing this week with fish to 15lb reported. Pole or waggler with banded hard pellet has been the number one method but maggot, paste and corn have also been working. Best pegs are 2 – 6 and 14 – 23.
WILLOW The popular Willow has been fishing well with carp and F1s showing all around the pool. Waggler or feeder to the island and pole fished pellet, paste or maggot have all accounted for plenty of fish.
SIBLINGS A The better of the two Siblings pools at the moment with some cracking carp into double figures, F1s and plenty of F1 ‘stockies’ are being caught. It has been mostly pole fishing with pellet, maggot or corn but a few anglers are having success using a small feeder, particularly on the slightly wider areas.
SIBLINGS B Fished ok with lots of F1s in the 1-3lb range being caught and pegs 7 – 18 have been the most consistent pegs. Pole fished maggot or banded hard pellet has been the top tactic.
