        FISHERY REPORT

MOLANDS The changeable weather has seen the up and down of fishing Molands, on the upside 145lb won the Wednesday Open with big carp to 14lb coming to waggler and pellet fished tight to the island and during the mild spell midweek this was a favourite tactic on other areas. The colder weather at the weekend saw sport dip and F1s to 4lb with silver fish were the target and weights dropped to 30lb winning the match weights with pole fished maggot or soft pellet and the maggot feeder working best.

GEARYS It has been very quiet on big Gearys with most anglers favouring the more sheltered smaller pools. There were a few carp caught in the deeper water along the high bank with hard pellet on the pole accounting for fish to 10lb. Silver fish nets to 25lb also coming from the high bank area with caster or maggot over ground bait best.

LITTLE GEARYS The water has gone very clear and it has made the fishing quite tough this week with nets to around 35lb best. F1s to 4lb and silver fish making up the better nets fishing pellet or maggot on the pole or small maggot feeder down the middle. The odd carp coming to bomb and bread fishing up to the island.

ANNIVERSARIES The middle open area of the pool has been in the best form with pegs 6 and 16 – 23 producing F1s to 4lb in catches to 40lb. Maggot feeder, pellet feeder or waggler have worked on the pegs. On the other pegs, pole with maggot or pellet has been the best approach.

SIBLINGS A The very clear water around the pool was frozen by the weekend making it very difficult on Siblings A. Dobbing bread around your peg for the odd F1 and carp has been the way to go. Later in the day maggots fishing down the middle has picked up a few fish.

SIBLINGS B The end of the pool on pegs 7 – 10 has been the best with F1s shoaling there and catches to 30lb have been made. Pellet or maggot feeder down the middle and dobbing bread has been the better tactics.

WILLOW Carp to 5lb and F1s showing across to the island with a small feeder, waggler with pellet or where you can reach a pole with maggot or punched bread working well.

FISHERY OPENS AT 7.30am until 5pm from November 1st until February 28th.
DAY TICKET £8.00 and £7.00 CONCESSIONARY.
